So StarClan cats, you will notice that i never added Slate to the ShadowClan allegiences, it is not because i forgot, mind you.

Slate was one of the DarkClan apprentices in StarClan Battles and she was the one most happy there. The only reason she did not actually fight for DarkClan was because all of her friends (Serena, Leon, Yarn, Blaze and Mosspaw) were against them.

After DarkClan's losing battle, Slate tried to secure a place in ShadowClan, after all it was only fair that she be able to join them since she helped them fight. After Hawkstar (the old ShadowClan leader) passed away, her deputy was killed on the way to the moon pool and it was a cat named Halfmask that took over the clan.

Halfmask had never been a fan of non-ShadowClan blood, so he banished Slate before she even got her apprentice name and mentor. The fight left young Slate with a scarred face and broken spirit, she became determined to fight better than ShadowClan's brash leader.

Slate was a rogue again and not to happy about it; she started to regret fighting against DarkClan, which was her only home. She also started to resent her old friends, for they had all been accepted into the clans while she remained an outcast... what was worse was that they didn't seem to care about her disappearence.

Slate was taken in by a group of rogues, much like BloodClan and, in fact, they went on the same morals as old BloodClan; calling upon the spirit of Scourge to protect them. Slate learned to fight as they do, but her clever mind helped her to surpass their leaders and she become the leader of outcasts herself.

Slate cares for nothing but revenge on not only ShadowClan, but all clans; the clans that were so nice to take in her friends, but not her. This will be an obstical for the clans to overcome in the future, but perhaps there is still a bit of good in Slate...
