Dark Angel

Kurai is the first character i ever created, along with Shadow the black wolf and Hikary the angel cat.

i changed his markings again; this seems to happen often, but i think its right this time. he has changed from black to grey and his markings have changed from blue diamonds all over him to blue points to blue tattoo-ish markings and now to stripes. The one spripe of blue over his eye is the only thing about his coloring that has stayed constant since the very beginning.

as for his wings, he used to have full on demon wings but then i changed it to feathered demon wings to either angel or demon wings and then back to feathered demon (they are feathered/scaled on the inside and smooth/velvety on the outside.

Anyway, about his story: Kurai was left on the Angel Palace steps as a baby and so the kind took him in. The king's son, Zephyrus was the same age and took a liking to Kurai, who was half demon and half angel. The king's daughter, Hikary, was born a few years later.

Kurai was to act as a noble and learn to be royal but that wasn't his favorite pass-time; he would often cut classes and go do teenage boy things. Young Hikary would often tag along and the two would end up in trouble more often than not. Zephyrus would cover for them when he could, but he was busy learning how to be a proper prince and one day take over as king.

When Kurai turned 18 years of age, he finished growing and a curse befell him; he is somewhat of a were-creature. Due to the havoc he wrought on Marokvale (capital city of the Angel kingdom) he was placed behind bars and sentenced to death by the King's brother, who took the throne while claiming the king was incompetent for trusting Kurai. The king was put to death... Hikary, who had become quite attached to Kurai (loved him, in fact) was betrothed to Okami; the prince of the neighboring Demon Realm in an attempt to bring peace to the warring countries. Zephyrus became a lesser noble under his cousin, who became the new prince.

(Are you following me so far? Anyway...)

Kurai was released from prison by a strange demon woman and fled the palace and the Angel Domain. He met Hikary one last time and gave her his necklace before he was stopped by Zephyrus and the court. The new prince made Zephyrus fight Kurai to the death, but he would never kill his foster brother so he faked a stab to the angel/demon's gut and sent Kurai over the edge of a ravine, where he spread his wings and left for more hospitable country; now in posetion of Zephyrus's sword.

Kurai figured that maybe he could find the answer to his questions about his heritage and his curse from the demons, so he headed to Ballosvell (capital of the Demon Realm), but he was not to receive a welcome there either. Rakuen, the prince's adviser, received a vision of a half-breed that would come to claim the life of the rightful Emperor of the realm. Okami would not have the death of his brother Kageru (the rightful emperor) so he tracked down Kurai and attempted to kill him.

Kurai fled again to a port city and stowed away on a ship. Okami could not leave his country in pursuit due to his brother (the rightful emperor)'s absence so he did not give chase. Kurai however, finds himself in the company of pirates and due to a similarity to an old friend of the captain's is taken in rather than killed.

There he meets Kyra, who wants out of the pirates life despite her love for the captain: Aurok... She claims that it is over between them and takes a new interest in Kurai. They sale to the islands and Kurai discovers his purpose, which is to block the coming of the Jakalli people to the free countries. Jakal is a place shadow where only horrible beasts dwell (they can be compared to the reavers from Firefly, if anyone has seen that) So he goes back and... blah blah blah...

Anyway... a lot more happens, but its long and stuff; i have already written a damn novel here lol
